Day 14: A Day Of Rest & Sub-Subletting For Some Vagabonding
It was raining for almost the entire day. I didn’t mind that one bit as I was in the process of recovering from the long night out.I lay in my room drifting into periodic stages of sleep as the sounds of the heavy rains and rain gutters echoed through my room. This was one day that I did not mind to see and hear the rain as it forced me to stay in and relax. It was around 7am when I got home from last night’s party.
I try to give myself one whole day of doing whatever I want in terms of relaxation but in Toronto that does not always happen that way. I can go 3-4 months without ever taking time off. In fact that is how it was right before I arrived in Playa. In Playa the tempo is a lot slower and because of that, I have moved most of my business projects to start on Feburary 1st. During my stay here, I have been able to give myself a day a week to do absolutely nothing with ease. Things are getting done while I am giving myself time to rest. So really there is nothing much to write about for day 14 other than at around 8pm, I decided to go for a walk as the rain had slowed down to a drizzle to grab some quesadillas. I spent most of the day and night sleeping.
My friend Natalia and I spent some time talking on Facebook. She is planning her flight and stay here in Playa. She is probably going to be coming down mid this week. I might sublet my already subletted place at the end of this month to be a little flexible and move around with her. I want to try staying around different parts of Playa. The bonus is that she is an awesome photographer! Since I came down here, I have met a lot of people who were able to show me many different living options. I particularly love downtown Playa Del Carmen! I want to try and spend a few nights right downtown. I already have a few spots in mind.
I get bored easily and don’t like routine unless it’s a routine for building self-discipline… Subletting my place and jumping around from night to night to different spots sounds like an excellent way to spend the 23rd onwards. It will also give me some more exciting things to write about. It’s not like it’s totally required to have some exciting adventures here in Playa because all you really have to do is spend 5 minutes walking up 5th avenue and you will meet some of the coolest people on the planet which would kick everything off. That’s how I did it many times before as you’ve already read in my earlier posts.
