Day 8: Time To Recover
After getting home late last night, I felt a fever coming on. I knew it was not something I ate but rather the mix of ice cold Margaritas and the cool breeze of the ocean combined. Nights sometimes get a littler colder down here in Playa. Cold enough that a long sleeved shirt is required for a pleasant evening out. I laid down under a thick comforter and felt the fever coming on even stronger. I knew that if I was going to get well for week 2 of the adventures, I would have to sleep in and take it easy.
I woke up very late the next day. I don’t even remember how many hours I slept. It must have been around 4 or 5 pm before I woke up. I headed to the little tortilla shop and it was closed. At least I know now that they are closed on Sundays… I needed to grab some groceries so I showered and got ready to take a bike ride down to the Mega store located in downtown Playa. Upon arriving, I picked up my groceries which consisted of my diet staples. Raw spinach, alfalfa sprouts, bottles of water and avocados. I headed back to make dinner and work on a few projects till around midnight. I jumped on Facebook to see who was there. I spent 3 hours talking on Facebook with friends including Natalia who I met a few weeks before leaving Toronto. She expressed to me her desire to come down here and join in on the adventures. She has a keen interest in learning how to turn her hobbies and skills into a thriving business to fund her desire to travel and live the life of a lifestyle designer.
I met Natalia at an event my good friend Carmen Di Luccio spoke at. Carmen is a wizard when it comes to Superfoods. A lot of what he has recommended to me have become staples in my diet inducing Aphanizomenon flos-aquae blue-green algae, a super food that has amazing health properties and makes you feel like your are levitating through your days. It’s hard to believe that foods like this exist. They have almost mystical properties.
Since I did not really do much today, I don’t have anything to write about. I am glad however that I took the time to rest. When I woke up, I felt recharged and a heck of a lot better. Thanks for reading!
